ZIMBABWE international Tino Kadewere has rallied behind his Warriors teammates ahead of the 2022 Afcon qualifier against Botswana in Francistown today.
The Olympique Lyon striker is missing the Botswana game due to travel restrictions and remains hopeful to make it for the home game against Zambia.
“I’m missing the game and it’s sad because I really wanted to be there and playing for my team.
“But with Covid-19, there are new travel restrictions so there is nothing much we can do.
“I want to tell my teammates that I’m rallying behind them.
“And I know that they can do this and I also want to urge everyone to rally behind us as we go into the match,” he said.
He added: “We have played them before but I cannot say it’s to our advantage because every game is different.
“You might play them today and win, but tomorrow it will be different, so we can’t really bank on whether you know the team or not.
“And I think I now have an idea of our opponents and might use that as an advantage.
“And I have been talking to some of the guys in camp, they’re confident and
I also know that they are not intimidated by them, they’re ready for the game and are going to put our all in that game.
“I think our opponents should expect a tough game from us.”
Kadewere says he is hopeful of being available for the Zambia game.
“I’m hoping that I will come for the Zambia game. There’s a plan for us to come so I pray that it happens.
“I’m looking forward to playing in national colours,” he said.
