KANINDO exponent, Shantel Sithole, says performing at national events has boosted her following and national appeal.

Shantel, who has become a regular performer at State-sponsored events, is now reaping the rewards of patriotism.

Her performance at the just-ended 44th Uhuru bash in Murambinda has given her confidence to unveil her fourth album titled Comment Section on May 1.

It carries eight tracks — Joy Inombodiwa featuring Ndunge Yut, Hondo, Ndakakuyambira, Kumba Ndinodzoka, Nitakuimbiya KiSwahili, Babamukuru featuring Obert Chari, Mareferee, which she collaborated with Mark Ngwazi and the title track, Comment Section.

“I can see the hand of the Lord in my journey as an artist because everything is now taking shape from the time I started recording my music in 2021.

“My husband Gibson Makumbe, who is also my producer, has been pushing me hard to continue doing my best and right now I am very happy that I am someone.

“I was shocked that I now command a huge following judging by the number of inquiries that I have been receiving,” she said.

The talented dancer and choreographer said she was grateful for the exposure she was receiving at State functions.

“I have performed at more than 10 State functions where millions have been following my performances and I am grateful for the favour and grace.

“It’s like a dream to me since the corporate world has also been making inquiries with us as they want our services.

“This alone means a lot to me as a female artist where it is hard to make a breakthrough in this industry,” added Shantel.

She has also recorded three other albums —  New Dawn in 2021, Golden Glory (2022), and Hard Talk (2023).
