AN 83rd minute header by striker Evans Katema rescued Dynamos from defeat against Highlanders in a thriller that ended 1-1 at Rufaro yesterday.
With 11 goals so far Katema says he is hopeful that there are more to come.
“It felt great scoring especially in the big match though I felt we could’ve capitalized on Highlanders players who looked tired maybe because of travelling.
“We managed to create some chances in the first half then they got into the game and scored, it was hard for us but luckily we managed to score. It was a good game though I feel we could’ve won this game,” he said.
Katema was so exceptional that he got the ‘love offering’ from fans amounting to RTGS$500.
“What happened today made me happy, I know fans expects each and every player to give their all in the pitch.
“So their love for the team drives us to do more and work extra hard so that they will be happy,” he said.
“I have been trying hard to play well for my team and I think I have been given that opportunity by the coach.
“As a player I wish to do more or maybe score more if there are chances of me scoring.
“I also hope that I will keep on being in the form that I am right now.”
With, Clive Augusto who joined ABSA side Maritzburg during the first half of the season break but is still the leading goal scorer with 14 goals, Katema says he wants to surpass his goals.
He reckons that he should not be ruled out of the golden boot race yet for there are still more to come.
“I want to reach that number. The games are coming thick and fast and it is hard to penetrate through the defenders so it is hard.
“So I have to work extra hard. I am still in the golden boot race, there are still more games to play and that mean more chances of me scoring so I can’t be ruled out yet.
“I will try as much to get the golden boot award, since I won it last season in D1.
“I also aim to be on this year’s calendar if all goes well,” he said.
