WARRIORS midfielder, Willard Katsande inspired Kaizer Chiefs to a 1-0 win over Black Leopard with his 41st minute strike on Wednesday night.
It was Katsande’s first goal of the season in their 11th game of the campaign.
“It always feels good to contribute the team with goals, but the most important thing is victory.
“That wasn’t an easy goal to score because I had to risk myself to move in front of the defender.
“It’s something we that work on at training, I really wanted to score because on my previous game my effort hit posts twice,” he said.
Barely days after missing a penalty, Katsande revealed to H-Metro he is the number one penalty taker for his team.
“Yes I am the number one penalty taker and I am a senior player, I don’t shy off from my responsibilities.
“Missing a penalty is part of the game and what matters most is how you pick up yourself going forward after missing a penalty,” he said.
Katsande added that his job is to give the team balance.
“Not at all, my job is to cover the team and give balance. Goals are bonus to me and I care about the team more than myself as an individual.
“I have been comfortable in my game and the most important thing is the team not me.
“The goal meant a lot to the team because it gave us the three points we wanted,” he said.
“It’s about the team not me as individual and goals are bonus in my career, as a result I need to enjoy my game and win trophies as a team,” he said.
