AFRO-JAZZ crooner, Alexio Kawara, says he has quit booze to concentrate on God’s ministry.

The Shaina hitmaker believes he has made the right decision by sacrificing his life to God.

He said:

“I have quit drinking alcohol and hanging out in spots that I believe are not conducive to my spiritual growth.

“I have now started a journey to have a relationship with God, my maker.

“I have realised that while I have been chasing other things in life, my spiritual life (which is where everything is centred) has been suffering.

“I now spend more time trying to please God in all I do.”

He added:

“Music still does keep me busy. I still write songs and practice, but above all else, I am about my father’s business.

“I am still on my path to knowing where God wants me to be as far as my music is concerned.

“Ultimately, I know it all has to be about giving glory to His name.”

He is happy with how the local musical industry has evolved.

“As far as the industry is concerned, there are now way more musicians than when we started.

“Some are getting more professional, which is a good thing for the industry as a whole. I believe the government can still do more to support the industry.”
