AWARD-WINNING Afro-fusion musician Alexio Kawara says he still needs more time to complete recording his sixth album despite spending more than three years working on it.
According to Kawara, the album – titled Oyi – carries 10 tracks.
“For the past three years I have not released anything and all this time I was busy in the studio working on my sixth album which I believe will hit the market this year.
“My sixth album will redefine Kawara because I have taken my time to polish this project.
“I have starved my fans for a long time but I am giving them assurance that the long wait is over now as I am putting final touches on my new project.
“I am confident my new project will certainly take me to another level,” he said.
“I have spent more than three years concentrating on this album.
“I was also holding series of shows in and out of the country.
“Most of the shows are private and corporate shows.”
The Shaina singer also told this publication that he has been keeping a low profile and wanted his music to ‘talk on its own’.
“I am not an attention seeker, that’s why I was quiet and focusing on my album.
“When I have nothing new, I remain quiet and I will just let the music reach people,” he said.
To date Kawara has five album to his credit namely Tose, Kana, Pfimbi Yangu, Rwiyo Rwangu and Usandisiya.
