DYNAMOS have shrugged off competition from other domestic rivals to sign midfielder Ralph Kawondera.
Kawondera joined DeMbare on a one-year deal.
H-Metro exclusively reported last week that the former FC Platinum player was being chased by a number of top-flight clubs, including the Glamour Boys.
A source close to the developments told this publication Kawondera was offered an opportunity to stay at Mandava, following the expiry of his contract, at the end of last year.
The former Triangle captain, however, opted against the proposed deal because he wanted to get more game time elsewhere.
“He was offered to stay at FC Platinum but the player considered a number of issues. Ralph considered the issue of game time, you understand he hasn’t been getting enough minutes at Mandava,” revealed the source.
Kawondera’s agent, Trust Nyambiya, of TKT Sports Agency, confirmed the developments to H-Metro.
“Yes, I can confirm the deal, the pictures of him signing a contract you saw are genuine.
“Ralph (Kawondera) is now a Dynamos Football Club player after signing a year-long deal.
“I would like to thank Dynamos for giving Ralph an opportunity to keep playing.
“I also want to thank coach Ndiraya (Tonderai) for believing in our player and giving the player the platform and helping in bringing his confidence back.
“Ralph hasn’t been getting enough game time at Mandava and we hope he will get the opportunity at DeMbare.
“At the same time, we want to thank FC Platinum for the platform they gave him.
“Ralph won trophies at Mandava, including the Chibuku Super Cup, and played in the CAF Champions League. That should be appreciated,” said Nyambiya.
