Warriors caretaker coach, Norman Mapeza, says he did not know about the retirement of interim captain Khama Billiat.
Billiat announced his retirement from international football on his social media pages on Monday.
“I don’t know about it. He hasn’t talked to me yet about the issue.
“I’m still in the dark about the issue, we can’t follow what’s on social media.
“Because he might end up saying it’s not me, he should talk to us about the issue.
“I can’t rush to comment what’s on social media,” said mapeza.
Khama’s manager Godfrey Vokal Bakasa said the public notices were genuine.
“Yes it’s true, we’ve since written a letter to ZIFA.
“His reasons are stated on the message, he also wants to pave way for youngsters.
“He feels he has served his purpose and wants to give others a chance,” he said.
