SUSPECTED murderer, Peter Dube, returned to his crime scene yesterday is expected to appear in court today.
Dube yesterday led police detectives to the scene where he shot his late lover Shelton Chinhango at close range.
She died on the spot.
He went on to shoot his wife’s best friend, Gamuchirai Mudungwe, and injured his second wife’s sister Nyaradzo.
Residents were shocked to see Dube, a car dealer, who fled the country after committing the murders.
He was arrested on his return on Wednesday after being deported from Mozambique.
“We thank police for bringing criminals like Peter to book for justice to take it’s course.
“Ropa revana vaakauraya rakachema uye Nyadenga akazvinzwa.
“We have learnt that crime does not pay and the law will always catch up with such people.
“It is our prayer for justice to take it’s course,” said one Gweru resident.
National police spokesperson, Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi, confirmed Dube’s pending court appearance.
“Police are to take Peter Dube to court tomorrow (today).
“They are completing their documents on charges ahead of court appearance,” he said.
