South Africa based rapper, King 98 -real name Ngonidzaishe Dondo- has apologised over the timing of his new video “No bad vibes” featuring Naija superstar Davido.
The beautiful video was launched last Saturday at Club Sankayi while the entertainment industry was mourning the death of a legend –Oliver “Tuku” Mtukudzi.
Some music critics and fans felt the rapper had failed to honour the late Tuku, an issue he clarified in his apology.
“On behalf of myself, King98, as well as my team; I would like to issue a sincere apology to everyone we offended with our untimely release of my music video as well as the audio for my song featuring Davido.
“It has come to our attention that our date was not received well due to the unfortunate and devastating death of Oliver Mtukudzi.
“We would kindly like to explain that this was not on purpose, but rather legal dates that needed to be met which we could not postpone due to lack of authority to do so on our part.
“We would just like to make it clear that we completely stood by the #shutdown and we are still mourning the untimely passing of the legend, Tuku.
“We hope you will accept this apology, and not shun the music I’m trying to create because of this error.”
