UK based wheel-spinner, King Alfred, last Sunday thrilled thousands of online viewers during an online Independence Day show.
Dubbed the “One Zimbabwe Diaspora Independence Weekender Party” held courtesy of 263 Deejays, the exciting online bash featured several Diaspora deejays entertaining Facebook fans from Friday through out to Sunday.
King Alfred featured on the Sunday slot around 8pm Zimbabwean time.
He took viewers down the memory lane playing an interesting old-school dancehall selection that rocked back in the 90s.
The selection included both local and international tracks.
In an interview, King Alfred, saluted the organisers for involving him in such a good initiative.
“I really enjoyed my set and really liked the feedback from the viewers.
“It was called the “Vintage Upfull Show” as I wanted to people to reminisce about the good old days in dancehall.
“I’m glad the viewers liked it and we got to celebrate our independence together,” he said.
“The organisers showed great love and showed despite the Covid-19 pandemic Zimbabwean can still come together to celebrate their independence.
“I want to take time to big up Dj Morgan Stitch and Fantan Fire and all those that were behind this initiative.
“It means a lot when we come together as a family like this and we should keep that oneness always.”
King Alfred went on encourage people to keep safe by staying in their homes, practice extra hygiene and social distancing.
