US-BASED Afro-fusion star, Julian King, is on cloud nine.
The award-winning singer is basking in the positive response which his new album titled ‘Misunderstood,’ has been receiving.
The album dropped yesterday.
A firm believer in collaborations and synergies, Julian King got it right this time around after collaborating with Nigerian singer BoyPee and Ugandan star, Geosteady.
BoyPee is one of the most sought-after stars in West Africa while Geosteady continues to rule the roost in East Africa.
The One by One hit-maker hailed his management team for believing in him.
After several years of releasing singles, he has finally come up with an album.
“I have always enjoyed working with great musicians both on home soil and beyond our borders.
“My album is now out and it features two African stars who are trending at the moment.
“It was a marvel working with them and I am very happy because of what we have managed to give fans.
“For the record, Geosteady is a popular musician from Uganda while BoyPee from Nigeria is trending after his recent release ‘Ogechi’ with Davido.
“It’s a clear sign that we are dealing with stars,” he said.
On home turf, Julian King is known for his collaboration with Saintfloew, which earned him top honours in Zimbabwe.
This time around, he also roped in Nutty O and Holy Ten, a sign he is also in touch with what is happening back home.
He also took a year to work on this album with the help of his US-based producer Fidelis Banda.
He has also worked with another Zimbabwean artist based overseas, who is known as Phatso.
“Some of the people who helped me on this album include Farai Matema, JSob, Sobusa Khumalo, Gangster Kudakwashe Gonye, Haniel Muzerengwa while Wayne Maromo mixed and mastered all tracks.”
Born Julian Kanombirira, the entertainer needs no introduction to the youth back home.
His club-bangers have made him a favourite of many.
He holds an Accounts degree from Africa University.
