A COMMUTER omnibus driver was yesterday jailed two years and his class 2 driver’s licence revoked after he was found guilty of reckless driving.
Beni Beven, 28, was found guilty for contravening Section 6 of the Road Traffic Act Chapter 13:11 as read with section 7(1)(a) of the Statutory Instrument 168/2006 (Public Service Vehicles) Regulations.
Prosecutor, Moses Mapanga proved that on April 19 this year, Beni Beaven drove his Toyota Hiace AC 5221, a public vehicle, against a one way going due north along Julius Nyerere Way thereby disturbing the flow of traffic by failing to keep a proper look out of the road ahead.
Harare Magistrate Yeukai Chigodora, convicted the driver of the offence.
