WARRIORS and Azam midfielder Tafadzwa Kutinyu says the fear of failing to qualify for AFCON finals is enough motivation ahead of their crucial tie against of the Congo-Brazzaville.
The former Chicken Inn player hopes to bring his club form to the national team.
Sunday Chidzambwa’s men need to avoid a defeat to qualify for the showdown to be hosted by Egypt in June.
Kutinyu has scored seven goals at his Tanzanian team and he hopes to take his form to the National Sports Stadium.
“I have seven goals now; I have been fairly doing well at my club.
“It is my wish that l will be able to score for the national team and to qualify for Egypt,” he said.
“It’s a very important match that we need to put maximum effort in everything and anything for us to get the victory.
“We need to win this game because it holds the key for us to go to Egypt.”
Kutinyu, who has featured regularly under Sunday Chidzambwa, said he is grateful to be part of the squad.
“I feel great because it’s every player’s wish to be called for national team regularly.
“It also means that my work is being recognised and I am grateful for that,” he said.
Kutinyu emphasised on the importance of team work saying this game isn’t about individualism.
“It’s not about expectations from individuals or who is going to play.
“It’s all about team work and anyone who will get a chance to play will work hard for a victory
“To our fans I beg them to come in numbers and support us because they are also part of the team.
“They motivate the team so they need to come and help the team to get a victory,” he said.
Regarding his targets for his Tanzanian based team, he said:
“My season has been great though we have a little bit pressure fighting for the league (title), we are currently second.
“So I hope by end of season if we keep pushing we will be champions in the FA cup, or league so the team will play champions league next season that’s our goal,” he said.
