LADY Chevrons team coach Adam Chifo is hoping for a better performance in the third and final ODI series match against Bangladesh at Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo today.
They are currently trailing 2-0.
Chifo, however, believes a win is still possible.
“Any result is possible in tomorrow’s ( today) match, hopefully we will win, we need to play to a set plan and from the last two matches it looked like we had no plan at all,” he told H-Metro Sport yesterday.
He added that the match requires them to be more focused.
“Tomorrow’s ( today) match is no different from the last two, we really need to focus more on how we apply ourselves and how we go through our team processes in relation to any situation that arises.
“The batters need to spend as much time as possible on the crease while our batters need to be a little bit more consistent,” said Chifo.
The Bangladesh series is Zimbabwe’s second ODI series in history, the first one being the one they lost 3-1 to Ireland last month.
Commenting on his team’s performance in Saturday’s 9 wicket loss , Chifo said,”Yesterday (Saturday) saw us repeat the same mistake as we did in the first match with a slight improvement, we are not really where we want to be yet especially with the bat we still have a lot of work to do.”
Saturday’s game saw Sharne Mayers making her debut ODI match for Lady Chevrons.
The team’s performance against Bangladesh today is key as it serves as a final preparatory match ahead of the coming ICC Women’s World Cup Qualifier which Zimbabwe is set to host in Harare from November 21 to December 5.
