Zimbabwe women’s cricket team suffered a series white wash at the hands of Bangladesh.
The hosts lost by seven wickets in the third and final ODI match to record a 3-0 loss.
Lady Chevrons lost by 8 wickets and 9 wickets respectively in the first and second matches.
The Bangladesh series was the team’s final preparation ahead of the coming ICC Women’s World Cup Qualifier which Zimbabwe host next week from November 21 to December 5.
Commenting after the match the team’s head coach Adam Chifo said the series was a lesson going into the coming Qualifiers.
“Not a good game but all I can say is bigger lessons going into the coming qualifiers.”
“One thing we picked up is we need to negotiate spin better, especially left arm spin you know we do not have much of that in Zimbabwe , facing I for the first time in a match becomes a challenge,” he said.
Chifo justified the reason why they chose to bat first the two times they have won the toss.
He said,”The whole idea is we have done well chasing against Thailand and Ireland in the previous series , so we needed to face our demons we have a problem when it comes to batting first so that when the situation arises in the case we lose a toss we will have a plan.”
Lady Chevrons are in group B together with Bangladesh, Thailand and USA the coming Qualifiers.
Meanwhile the team captain Mary-Anne Musonda says the Bangladesh series result is worry going into the Qualifiers.
“It is a worry going into the Qualifier but we do not want it to define us it is just three games so we need to work hard make sure it does not affect us going forward,” she said.
