ILLEGAL vendors started trickling in the Harare Central Business District despite calls by city fathers and Government to stop vending and curb cholera, which has claimed lives in Budiriro and Glen View.
While the ‘defiant’ vendors devised means to sell their wares at night, the city was cleared of vendors with a few playing ‘cat and mouse’ with municipal cops.
During a survey by H-Metro, there was no vending morning till midday as the Zimbabwe Republic Police were patrolling the streets.
However, vending business was ongoing along Robert Mugabe Road, Julius Nyerere Way, Jason Moyo Avenue and Chinhoyi Street late afternoon.
At the time of going to print, more vendors could be seen selling their wares in pavements.
