LATIN Fridays night of fashion and lingerie lived up to expectations with a presentation of the most daring outfits leaving very little to the imagination.
The event, which was held in Avondale on Friday, saw seven designers showing different looks from their collections and one extra showcase from Cattleya lifestyles.
Eighteen-year-old designer Vanessa Hodza’s Vanho designs presented a Barbarian inspired collection which the designer said was an idea she got from a script that triggered thoughts of His glory, arrows and how a savage look would be like.
Other brands who showcased include SPVNR Dial a tailor, Reen Zara, NoeEs, Rugare by Trish, Kai San and Tapfumaneyi Munenge.
Rugare by Trish presented her fabric dominated jewellery collection which most models wore with plain black leggings and bras.
“I have always liked dramatic jewellery and I could not find the kind I liked so I decided to make my own pieces.
“What you are seeing here is what I like to wear and I hope everyone else does to,” Trish said to the fashion lovers who attended.
Munenge wowed the crowd with his showcase which had a lot of exposing sheer fabric yet presented in a classy and gracious manner.
He went to lengths with a brave, short and beige dress with extremely light fabric which showed the model’s bare breasts!
However the crowds commended the designer’s works as they stood out above the rest.
The event was lit by the DJs who took turns to keep the crowd entertained till well after midnight.
Sachaa launched her song, Stay with me, delivered a performance and her first CD was auctioned off for $35 after she sang the kizomba track.
Latin Fridays are expected to become a monthly feature for fashion lovers, designers and musicians to celebrate different cultures.
