Liquid Telecoms in conjunction with the Ministry of Health and Child Care and the City of Harare yesterday started a sewer pipe replacement exercise in Glen Norah B to help in the fight against cholera.
Liquid Telecom representatives were on hand yesterday as the exercise got underway.
Harare mayor, Councillor Herbert Gomba extended his gratitude towards Liquid for assisting the City in the wake of cholera outbreak.
“No amount of words will be enough to thank Liquid Telecom with this gesture that I am told will chew $1.5 million in the first phase that will cover from where we are now encompassing Chembira School, Glen Norah Park through to Shiriyedenga.
“The exercise will also cover Dzivaresekwa High 2 and Dzivarasekwa Extension.
“Liquid Telecom is an all-weather partner and the way they have reacted to assist the City in the wake of cholera outbreak is very touching. A friend during a storm is a friend indeed.
“Such corporate social responsibility drive is commendable and I wish to take this time and moment to convey our heartfelt thanks to the company and pray that they continue to assist us as we embark on a renewal exercise in all our water and sewer structural refurbishment.”
