WARRIORS coach Logarusic Zdravko is expected in the country on Monday ahead of an international friendly against Malawi on October 11.
ZIFA spokesperson Xolisani Gwesela said the squad is set to be announced next week, after the coach’s arrival.
Loga has left the country for his home country, Croatia, during lockdown.
“The squad will be announced next week and Loga is expected back in the country on Monday,” he said.
H-Metro is reliably informed that Zifa has already sent out invitations to most of the foreign-based players with camp expected to start on October 5.
“As of now, the competitions department has already sent out letters to clubs requesting players to turn up for international duty.
“The coach wants to use the game against Malawi to assess most of the players. So he has already selected the squad but an official announcement is set for next week,” revealed a source at Zifa.
The squad, according to the source, has new faces as Loga tried to cast his nets wide.
The Croatian told H-Metro before that he will not hesitate to include new faces as long they are ready and eligible to represent the country.
Zimbabwe travel to Blantyre for the match set for Kamuzu Stadium in preparation for their back-to-back AFCON qualifiers against Algeria in November.
Meanwhile, Malawian coach Meck Mwase has called 32 players to camp ahead of the friendly match which consist of 11 foreign-based players.
