TWO Mabvuku women are nursing injuries from attacks by a driver, and two others, who were in a Toyota Funcargo they boarded at Simon Muzenda bus terminus on Tuesday.

Nackolly Harawa, 25, and Evelyn Makomva, 31, were taken to Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals for medical examinations following the attack.

They lost cash and valuables, amounting to US$891, to the unidentified attackers.

Harawa sustained a deep cut on the left palm and has a swollen forehead.

Harare provincial police spokesperson, Assistant Inspector Webster Dzvova, confirmed the incident.

“The two complainants boarded a yellow Fun Cargo, registration number not captured, going home,” said Asst Insp Dzvova.

“There were three unidentified men on board including the driver.

“The complainants occupied the back seat with one of the accused.

“Along the way, the accused diverted the route and turned right into Glenara Road and later turned left into Hillside Extension Road.

“The accused, who was at the back seat, suddenly produced a knife and demanded valuables.”

“He stabbed one of the complainants once on the left palm and forehead.

“The complainant surrendered cash amounting to US$491, Huawei Y7 and a small Itel cellphone.

“The second complainant surrendered a Tecno Spark 7 cellphone.

“The accused then stopped the vehicle and pushed the complainants out,” Asst Insp Dzvova said.
