Blessed Katiyo in Johannesburg
FOLLOWING his two blockbuster shows in Johannesburg at Newtown Music Factory and Germiston Lounge, Alick Macheso and his Orchestra Mberikwazvo ensemble have landed in Cape Town for a once of show at the Goodwood Civic Hall.
It will be a family show on Sunday 17 October 2021. Macheso has not been in Cape Town for almost three years and next weekend’s gig will provide him an opportunity to once again dance with his fans.
The show is the brainchild of Boss Farooq and Boss Chicco. It will see Cape Town based entertainers on the line up. Simba Saini and his Afristorm Band will perform live so will Shattah Fyah and Rudeboy.
Popular sound system Don Family will also be there on the decks. Bashmouth, Lenny Matterhorn and Ras Reggie who are among the longest serving dancehall entertainers are also billed to perform.
“We are anticipating a good show and we are urging fans to come in their numbers. All health protocols will be followed and the show will start early afternoon,” said organiser Boss Farooq.
“It is a family show and we hope even the little ones will get a chance to watch Macheso live than online as what has been happening in virtual concerts,” added Farooq.
General tickets are retailing for R200 while kids will pay R250. VIP tickets are also available.
“We are now in Cape Town and as usual we are here to deliver top quality entertainment. The boys are ready and we will not disappoint,” said Tich Makahamadze, Orchestra Mberikwazvo spokesperson.
