IN a show of solidarity, award-winning gospel artist Dorcas Moyo has combined forces with the sungura kingpin Alick Macheso on a song titled Mhanza Haisekwi.
The song was included on her new album titled, Mhanza Haisekwe, which was launched on Saturday in Mutare.
The album has been endorsed by local artists, who included Mark Ngwazi and Greatman, as a triumph for the queen of praise and worship.
“The song Mhanza Haisekwi by Dorcas and Macheso is really amazing.
“A good job was done.
“I was a gatecrasher at the album launch, the welcome was sweet, Mutare is blessed to have people who love and support their artists.
“Dorcas, congratulations my sister on your album.
“I’m in love with the track Mhanza Haisekwi featuring Alick Macheso,” said Greatman.
Unpacking the album, Dorcas’ manager Peter Mudondo, said it was loaded with spiritually uplifting songs.
“The album has 11 tracks and we have three collaborations.
“One with Alick Macheso and another with Vabati VaJehova, and the third one with Samantha Rova.
“It is the norm that we drop an album annually and this year was no exception.
“The ocean of experience and talent endowed on Alick Macheso is indispensable.
“When an opportunity to work with him opened, we had to grab it with both hands.
“Vabati VaJehova brings a different flavour.”
Added Mudondo: “We strive to continue growing our fan base and also grow the brand Dorcas Moyo.
“We also seek to cement our status as one of the most powerful outfits in the country and furthermore we are obligated to preach the gospel through music.
“There were no major challenges to write about since we were working with our usual producers.
“As usual, we dropped a couple of singles along the year and we are also working on videos for this album.”
