GOSPEL musician Sabastian Magacha, who recently divorced his wife Nomsa Ndikumwe, this year celebrated his birthday as a bachelor.
The Bhosvo singer, who turned 34 last week, said this year’s birthday was a different one since he had to celebrate it without Nomsa.
“In all the years of my marriage, I celebrated my birthday with my wife but this year I had to embrace the current situation.
“I still had to celebrate that I am a year older but obviously in a different way, I still have friends and family members whom I celebrated my birthday with so I still had a good time,” he said.
Due to the divorce experience he went through, Magacha said he lost his confidence.
“The 34 years I now celebrate have been a journey of lifetime. I have chosen to do more of the good things.
“I am at a place where confidence is something I am working on every day because if I doubt my ability to accomplish what I set out to do then I can’t accomplish it.
“I must have the confidence in my ability and be tough enough to follow through my 17-year musical journey and I have come to realise that I am in the right industry.
“I am not doubtful or apologetic for the choices I have made in making sure my voice continues to minister to those who listen.
“If anything my decision to sing is affirmed daily when I see how my music touches the lives of my fans, family and friends.
“Their support is unparalleled and ignites in me an urge to never leave them behind when I evolve.
“I want to continue telling the Zimbabwean story, heritage and tradition through my art.
“I thank God for the gift of life and the gift of being appreciated by many,” he said.
