PROPHETIC Healing and Deliverance ministries founder, Prophet Walter Magaya has come to the rescue of ZIFA by taking on board the senior national team and the Under-23 sides preparing for next weekend duty.
The Young Warriors take on Mozambique while the Warriors host Congo-Brazzaville in a final 2019 AFCON qualifier.
Cash-strapped Zifa had taken the Young Warriors to the Zifa Village in Mt Hampden but the team was not happy with the facilities and sought help from Magaya when they engaged his Yadah side in a friendly match on Saturday.
The senior national team players will also be at Yadah Hotel starting today.
“We had a good friendly match against Under 23 and they beat Yadah FC 4-2,” said Prophet Magaya. “After the match they highlighted an uncomfortable situation with their accommodation through their (Zifa) technical director, Mutekede who indicated that the conditions at Zifa Village were not favourable.
“They felt they were being treated differently from the senior national team and they took it up with me, asking if we could also accommodate them at Yadah hotel. We accommodated them and the senior team will also be here.
“It is not that we have money. We believe we have a role to play in helping those flying the country’s flag. We have a facility that, if available, we will be willing to avail for a national cause. We can only expect a good result from the teams if they have good preparations and accommodation is an important part of the preparations.”
