GOSPEL musician and entrepreneur Tatenda Mahachi is all smiles after being nominated for the Zim Achievers Awards to be held this weekend in Canada.
The Harare based singer who is known for supporting charities and orphanages is vying for the Music Artist of the Year category along with Calie Bonce, Chinowawa and Lawrence Sibanda (The General).
In an interview with H-Metro, Mahachi said he was humbled by the nomination.
“The nomination I got is a career booster since I have been in the game for a while praising the Lord through music.
“I might not win the overall gong but the nomination on its own is a real achievement for me and my handlers.
“It motivates me a lot to continue working hard and do well in the new year which is still in its infancy,” he said.
“As artistes, we need to use our influence and change people’s lives, especially those who look up to us.
“In these trying times, we also need to share with the need and also use our influence to preach the good news about prevention of Covid-19.”
Meanwhile, Mahachi enjoys rave reviews for his collaboration titled He Cares for You featuring American singer Isaac Simpsons.
The spiritually uplifting single was produced by McDonald Chidavaenzi who is behind most of Mahachi’s successful tracks.
He is set to release video and he has been in touch with his American on how they can shoot the video.
