CONTEMPORARY gospel singer Tatenda Mahachi will not enter the festive empty-handed as the crooner is set to release a single featuring US’ praise and worship sensation, Isaac Simpsons.
Titled He Cares for You, the party single and yet spiritually uplifting single was produced by McDonald Chidavaenzi who is behind most of Mahachi’s successful tracks.
In an interview with H-Metro, Mahachi could not hide his elation after his ‘bromance’ with Simposons which began four years ago is now yielding results.
“I first met Simpsons in 2016 after being introduced to him by the late South African gospel star S’fiso Ncwane.
“It was S’fiso who advised me to keep in touch with Simpsons since he is a big artistes in South Africa.
“I invited him here the same year and we became brothers and we are still in touch regularly,” he said.
Mahachi who is set to shoot visuals for the song early next year said fans should brace for its audio in the first week of December.
“I have realised that I can’t end the year empty-handed and our producer McDee has been busy putting together the song that will usher merry-makers into the festive season.
“It’s a song that was expertly done with the help of our producer.
“My wish is to invite him to Zimbabwe for a mega concert once the Covid-19 pandemic ban is lifted.
“I also travelled to the US before and it is my hope that my brother Simpsons will be coming down this side.
“It has been a marvel working with him and it won’t be a once-off thing since we have lined-up a number of projects,” he said.
Asked what he has been doing for the greater part of lockdown, Mahachi said:
“Well, I have been buys in the studio doing a number of recordings and that album will be ready early next year.
“It’s only that we are busy trying to find ways to launch it so that we can launch it in style owing to the current situation we have just find ourselves in.”
Besides the Simpsons collaboration, Mahachi has four albums to his credit.
He burst onto the music landscape in 2007 when he released his debut album titled Miyedzo.
In 2010, he released his second album titled Kure which was followed by Kure (2013) and Declarations 2015.
In the past five years, he has been releasing a number of singles namely Ndisiye featuring the late Oliver “Tuku” Mtukudzi, Tichamuona, Ndino Jesu,
You Alone and of course his latest single He Cares for You featuring Simpsons.
As part of his social responsibility, Mahachi has been holding a lot of charity work and last weekend he performed at Harare Children’s Home.
