NGEZI Platinum Stars skipper Frank Makarati says team has made good signings, positioning them well ahead of the 2020 Premiership season.
Ngezi unveiled their 28-man squad for the upcoming season in Mhondoro-Ngezi yesterday.
The squad has 12 new signings with the likes of Denver Mukamba, Devon Chafa, Kudzai Chigwida, Nyasha Chintuli and Nigel Makumbe expected to steer the ship.
“The team has made good signings this year. It’s actually the best assembled team since our promotion if you ask me. We have the best assembled team. I am motivated with the new players.
“The team is strong in all departments. I am happy with the new players, they are looking eager to achieve some silverware,” said Makarati.
Makarati said the team would fight to win games and achieve their target.
“With the team assembled this year I am sure our rivals should be scared for themselves now.
“Last year we were on the verge of getting some silverware but unfortunately we came second in the Chubuku Super Cup. We are equipped this season; we want all the silverware that comes our way.
“We have the depth, the experience and the talent required for us to win.
“When I look at Devon (Chafa), Denver (Mukamba) and other new signings I see a bright future,” he added.
Ngezi finished fourth last season and were the second best defending team.
Makarati said they will better their last year’s record.
“We want to be better than we did last season. We will defend better and score more. We have new sharp shooters and new good defenders, a plus on our side. Whoever underrates us should do it at their own cost,” said Makarati.
