Newly appointed Face of Kariba (FOK) ambassador Hillary Makaya is expected to set the ball rolling in the next few days as efforts to resuscitate the holiday resort heightens.
The 20-year-old, who was appointed KOZ ambassador last month, is set to tour the resort town on a familiarisation tour.
In an interview with H-Metro Entertainment & Lifestyle, Face of Kariba director, Alois Chimbangu said they are using Makaya’s visit as leverage on the long-term goals.
“While in Kariba, Hilary will take time to also enjoy some attractions and leisure activities offered by the resort town, courtesy of the tour operators and other businesses.
“She is also expected to take part in a few community based projects and identifying the needy whom she will later make donations to,” said Chimbangu.
According to FOK, the tour will be televised to catch the eye.
“The trip will be live on our Face of Kariba pages and other supporting media platforms which will attract thousands of followers.
“Kariba has the potential to be one of the key economic hubs in the country and efforts by our organization are meant to ensure this becomes a reality in the shortest possible time,” said Chimbangu.
Chimbangu has called for more partnerships with businesses operating in Mash-west.
“Associating ourselves with Hilary has also allowed the outside world to appreciate what Kariba has to offer whilst the forthcoming trip is going to be the icing on the cake.
“We expect her to meet people from all dialects both in the town and rural areas showcasing every possible attraction,” he said.
