SOUTH African dance goddess Makhadzi’s duet with sungura kingpin Alick Macheso and Mr Brown is now OUT.

The song has been included in Makha-dzi’s new album, Mbofholowo.

What makes the single, Shampopo, unique is that the production was done by the two artists who only met on a show in the UK.

After talking, the two then decided to combine forces and produce a song together.

For the past few months Macheso had been working on his verse.

“To Baba Alick Macheso, I’m speechless on what you did to our collaboration; you nailed it,” said Makhadzi.

“Mr Brown, what was going on in your head when you did that beat?

“I haven’t heard something like that in my entire life.”

She made these comments after sampling the song.

The album appears to have been warmly received by music fans in Zimbabwe.

Shampopo uniquely blends the energetic goddess’ powerful voice, Macheso’s groovy bass guitar, and Mr Brown’s impeccable vocals.

Mr Brown produced the beat of the song, it is a mixture of Venda and Shona, creating a bond between South Africa and Zimbabwe music revellers.

The album is a tribute to her journey from a humble background to a successful artist.

The album features other stars such as Kabza De Small, MaWhoo, Lwah Ndlunkulu and Master KG.
