Women empowerment group, Mama Prenuers, has revealed projects it is going to carry out for women in various areas during the course of this year.
The projects include starting up a milling company that is expected to employ over 20 women in Domboshava, a layers chicken project of over 1000 birds in Chitungwiza and mushroom farming in Bindura.
The projects were revealed at the official launch of Mama Prenuers held recently at UBC Hospitality in Hatfield.
The dinner that celebrated the birth of Mama Prenuers was attended by Minister of Women Affairs, Gender and Community Development Sithembiso Nyoni who was represented by Christine Chideme, David Nyakonda the Director of SMEs, Lloyd Bayera of Reach Out International and Professor Godwin Samuel of Frontiers.
In an interview with Mama Prenuers founder, Memory Mugabe she said their mission is to build a civil society through women empowerment hence their projects programme.
“We have revealed projects that we target to do this year in various areas as we try and empower women as we work towards our vision to tap into every woman’s potential and help them realise their greatness.
“These are some of the projects that we are starting off with and we are hoping by August these projects will now be fully running.
“We are looking forward to these projects employing several women and not only that but bringing and unifying women together for one benefiting cause which is empowerment.
“We do have other projects lined apart from these that we shall implement as the year goes as well,” she said.
“I would like to thank our guest of honors that attended the celebration dinner and we hope and pray the walk with us on this journey to empowering women.
“We really appreciate their support for this great initiative.”
