A HARARE man claims he was left nursing wounds after discovering his wife’s adulterous affair with a Chitungwiza lover.
Gift Munyafe is claiming US$95 000 in damages from Emmanuel Ndarama who he claims was having an adulterous affair with his wife Lyline Munyafe.
According to the summons, Gift argues that after discovering the affair on a couple of occasions, Ndarama later admitted to sleeping with his wife.
“I am married to Lyline Munyafe (nee Nyika) and we have been married since November 15th, 2001, the marriage still subsists.
“On various occasions and in places of which I am aware of but during the period of November 2020 and July 2021, Ndarama, in the full knowledge that Gift was married to Lyline, committed adultery and carried on with the relationship with my spouse, which adultery he admitted to me,” reads Gift’s declaration.
He further claims that his health deteriorated after learning of the adulterous affair.
“The discovery of the adulterous affair between my wife and Ndarama severely shocked me resulting in severe health complications which I am now dealing with.
“Upon discovery of the adultery committed by Ndarama with my wife as aforesaid, my wife deserted our matrimonial home in shame leaving me and a minor child behind,” he said.
He claims his wife has since commenced divorce proceedings between the two.
“My wife has since commenced divorce proceedings in the High Court of Zimbabwe at Harare on case HC4884/21.
“The proceedings are still pending,” he said.
As a result of the adultery, Gift is claiming US$45 000 or the Zimbabwe dollar equivalent for the pain and humiliation he alleges was caused by Ndarama.
He is also demanding US$50 000 for loss of comfort and services rendered by his wife.
