A CHIVHU man is appealing to the public for financial assistance for the operation of his four- year-old daughter.
Wilson Mutsvetimani‘s daughter has to go under surgery as she was born with an imperforate anus.
Wilson said his daughter went through her first surgery nine days after birth where a temporary colostomy was inserted.
This is the connection of the end of the large intestine to the abdomen wall so that stool can be collected in a bag.
“She was first operated by a Mutare based specialist Dr Kitcat. She is currently using her stomach to excrete.
That operation cost US$400. Now we need US$600 for the main operation.
“I am appealing to the public to help me raise the money. I am currently unemployed and it is painful to see my daughter struggle like she is right now.
“She was suppose to be attending school now but because of her condition she is unable to do so. I have hope that people will come through and help us,†he said.
Wilson can be contacted on his mobile number 0771 809 050 which is also his Eco-cash number.
Alternatively well-wishers can reach his wife on her mobile number 0774 792 433.
Imperforate anus is a defect that is present from birth (congenital). The opening to the anus is missing or blocked.
It is caused by abnormal development of the fetus. Many forms of imperforate anus occur with other birth defects.
