A HARARE woman dragged her abusive lover to the domestic violence court seeking a protection order.
Ratidzo Machengete stood before magistrate Noah Gwatidzo accusing Knowledge Mungwari of disturbing her peace..
The court also heard that Mungwari and Muchengete are cohabiting.
“We are not customarily married, I eloped to Mungwari when I was still at school.
“He always use obscenities to insult me and he was once arrested for assaulting me
“I am pleading with this court to be granted a protection order and I want Mungwari to leave my house.
“I am the exact owner of the house,” said Machengete.
In response, Mungwari disputed the allegations pose against him stated that the house belong to both of them.
“I do not have a national I.D.
“When we acquired the stand we have to register the house in her name.
“As for now we are cohabiting but if I get some money I will pay for her bride price,” said Mungwari.
Presiding magistrate Noah Gwatidzo ordered Mungwari not to abuse his wife verbally or physically.
Machengete was granted the liberty to seek an eviction order if he continues to abuse her
