A Harare man on Saturday appeared in court charged with attempted murder after he allegedly tried to shoot law enforcement officers.
Tendi Godfrey Simbarashe Murawu, 36, was not asked to plead when he appeared before Harare provincial magistrate Rumbidzai Mugwagwa who remanded him to appear in court on November 8.
The State, led by George Manokore, consented to bail and Murawu was released on $50 bail.
Allegations are that on October 26 and around midnight, the complainants Simbarashe Zenda and Clive Satuku who are members of the ZRP were on duty in the CBD where they attempted to arrest Murawu after observing that he was drinking in public.
The court heard that Murawu resisted arrest and withdrew his firearm and fired at the two law enforcement officers.
The two police officers managed to disarm him leading to his arrest.
The CZ pistol together with the spent cartridge were seized by the police and will be produced in court as exhibits.
