MANCHESTER UNITED fans were left unimpressed after Bruno Fernandes was spotted arguing with the referee after Saturday’s 2-1 defeat to Fulham.

The Red Devils were back to their worst as they conceded a 97th minute winner at Old Trafford. Erik ten Hag’s men looked devoid of ideas and totally uninspired after losing key goalscorer Rasmus Hojlund to injury.

But Fernandes appeared to think his side had been hard done by at the final whistle.

As players trudged off the pitch, the Red Devils skipper instead made a beeline for ref Michael Oliver.

And video footage captured the moment Fernandes started to berate him over his in-game decisions. But United fans were not happy with the midfielder’s behaviour.

One said: “How he is our captain?”

Another declared: “What’s he even trying to argue?”

One noted: “xMoan off the charts.”

Another added: “If he had shown this much fight in his performance, United would be top of the league.”

Fulham dominated almost the entire game today and went ahead in the 65th minute through Calvin Bassey.

But United looked to have sneaked a point when Harry Maguire thumped home in the 89th minute. However, the hosts left themselves light in defence as they pressed for a winner. The ball fell to Adama Traore, who dribbled up the pitch on a counter-attack before squaring the ball to Alex Iwobi.

And the midfielder did not miss his mark as he fired home to seal the win for Fulham. — The Sun.
