Dairibord Holdings Limited Zimbabwe chief executive officer, Antony Mandiwanza, has been summoned to court to answer to an $8 000 damages claim made by his ex-security guard.
Mandiwanza appeared before Harare magistrate Milton Serima who postponed the matter to November 6.
Edmund Mutusva dragged Mandiwanza to court for allegedly assaulting him with a gun and he immediately lost his job.
Mutusva was employed by Vision Security to provide security services at his Glen Lorne residence.
The court later acquitted Mandiwanza of the assault charges against Mutusva when the matter was heard before magistrate Eric Kadye.
Mutusva claims he sustained a permanent injury on his left-hand during the altercation and now wants the court to grant him $8 000 as damages from Mandiwanza.
According to the papers filed at the Harare Civil Court, Mutusva cannot find any formal employment and the injury has been a major set-back.
He claims the defendant has refused and neglected to reimburse him his medical bills.
