Triangle coach Taurai Mangwiro was over the moon after their 2-1 victory over Premier league debutants Telone on Sunday.
New signing Nyasha Chintuli was on target in the 10th minute for Triangle before Emmanuel Mandiranga cancelled the lead in the 34th minute.
Obey Mwerahari scored the winner for Triangle a few minutes from full time.
“I feel elated because we came up against a very determined and impressive, largely entertaining TelOne.
“They wanted to win it and it shows the character that our team has.
“I thought we created descent opportunities and we were lucky to survive because they were bringing the game to us when they equalized,” said Mangwiro.
Triangle are basking in glory after coming from another win from Herentals last week.
Telone coach Jairos Tapera saluted his players saying they played well but need to get back to the drawing board.
“I think 2-1 loss is difficult to accept. We played very well.
“Being scored in the last four minutes is very hard to have a comeback.
“But such is the game we need to go back and sit down on whatever we are doing so that we come back stronger,” he said.
Triangle are now on 21 points, seven points behind log leaders FC Platinum while Manica Diamonds are on 17 points.
