FC Platinum coach Norman Mapeza has dismissed claims that his team has more advantage than others this season.
Platinum has been playing competitive matches in the CAF Champions league since January, before the league resumed on March 30.
Pure Platinum Play started their season with a 2-0 win over Harare City last week.
Harare City coach Mark Harrison said that Platinum has a bigger advantage in the league since they have been playing long before the season started.
“People differ in opinions so I can’t talk about what other people think about.
“When we started I think all the clubs in the league, all the people in the league nobody told them told them when to start preparations for the pre season.
“So the part you might have seen, they might have the urge but my main worry now are the guys will get fatigue but we have an edge as anybody because we started the season in January.
“Because it’s been two years now playing football nonstop so if people think we have an edge because we started season early, I can’t comment on that,’ he said.
The Miners will be facing Triangle in match day 2 at Mandava on Saturday.
The team didn’t win against The Sugar boys in last year’s league fixtures except in the Castle Challenge Cup which they won 2-0.
Mapeza says his approach remains the same which is to win.
“Going into every game, our approach remains the same.
“We play each and every game to win,” he said.
