Norman Mapeza says they need to move mountains when they travel to Senegal for the return leg. FC Platinum lost 1-0 to Senegalese ASC Jaraaf in the CAF Confederation Cup qualifier, first leg at the National Sports Stadium.
Pure Platinum Play failed to utilize their chances including a 26th minute penalty by Silas Songani. Albert Diene scored the only goal of the match in the 69th minute.
Gift Bello came closest in that remainder but his strike on the stroke of full-time hit the post.
“We had chances, I don’t know, I can’t follow, the boys worked so hard .
“Look the boys haven’t been playing football for quite some time so that sharpness is not there at the end of the day.
“I’m sure if you had we were playing football regularly those missed chances we could’ve worked scored one or two. But at the end of the day, they worked so hard,” he said.
Platinum are set to leave for Senegal on Saturday.
“We lost we just need to go there and polish up on what went wrong today and train for a day or two and we will see what will happen.”
The Zimbabwe champions are playing in the tournament after they were relegated from the Champions League following their first round defeat to Simba SC.
