HARARE City coach Mark Mathe has emphasised the need to score more goals so as to win games.
Mathe, who took over from Mark Harrison, has not won any game and believes the failure to covert chances by his team has deprived them of maximum points.
This week the Sunshine boys will travel to Ngezi for an encounter with Ngezi Platinum stars and Baobab.
“We are not utilizing our chances. Looking at how my players are playing, they are not bad at all but we are not scoring goals.
“I always urge my boys to take their positions and deliver.
“Week in, week out we are creating more chances but our rate of scoring is poor,” he said.
“There is need for speed of thought, speed of reaction, the correct basic technique for the situation and the hunger to score.
“If they can be able to master all these, we will be good to go.”
He however, believes their game against Ngezi away will be a tough one as their opponents have been performing well of late.
“We have designed a different programme for this game. We are going in with our strategy hopefully we will be able to collect the maximum points.
“What is needed for is to be mentally well. We need to get into the game with a positive mind that will help us.
“Ngezi is a good side they have been displaying some great football and we know we are going to have a tough time but I’m confident we will pull through and register a win,” he said.
Harare city are sitting on position 12 on the log with 19 points after 16 games.
