The City of Harare has temporarily closed Mbare Musika bus terminus for renovations
Temporary use of alternative pick up and drop off points have been put in place.
In a statement the City said:
“The city of Harare wishes to inform the public that Mbare Musika bus terminus is currently closed for renovations.
“Destinations not stated but fall on the same routes mentioned will use the same pick-up and drop off points.
“The temporary ranks shall only accommodate buses with Covid-19 compliance permits.
“The City therefore implores travellers and bus operators to comply and take due care so as to maintain orderliness and the safety of the travelling public.
“Council has designated temporary pick up and drop off points for intercity by travel as follows:
“Temporary terminus include: Simon V Muzenda (Fourth Street Rank): Mutare, Mutoko, Murewa and Goromonzi
Coventry Holding Bay: Bulawayo, Mt Darwin, Bindura, Chiweshe, Shamva, Chinhoyi and Masvingo
Mbudzi Complex Car Park/Machipisa Bus terminus: Masvingo, Chiredzi and Beitbridge.
The City has been working on renovations towards their aim to achieve a world class city by 2025.
The renovations include resurfacing of bays, putting new shades and fencing of the bus terminus to make sure that council is able to maximise on revenue collection and to get rid of touts.
