Paul Pindani in CHINHOYI
TWO men were arraigned before a magistrate for attempting to sell an elephant hide in Hurungwe.
Trymore Muzeziwa (47) and Hopelight Gumbo (36) appeared before Chinhoyi magistrate, Rumbidzai Chuma, facing a charge of contravening Section 59 (2)(b) of the Parks and Wildlife Act Chapter 20:14.
It pertains to unlawful hunting, possession or dealing in animals or their parts. The magistrate remanded the two out of custody and they will appear again in court on September 25.
The State did not oppose bail, on condition that they each deposit a sum of $500 000, with the Clerk of Court. However, Muzeziwa failed to provide a proper address and will be held in custody until the 25th, pending a proper residential address.
