Popular radio presenter and dancehall emcee, Merciless Zimbabwe, is tomorrow expected to release three mixtapes to celebrate his 31st birthday as well as honouring his late mother and Soul Jah Love.
The three much-anti mixtapes – Angelica’s Son, Destination Zimbabwe and the third a dedication to Jah Love – bring to 16 the number of mixtapes Merciless has released so far.
He worked with Dj Teko on the mixtapes whilst JMP is behind the production of them.
Speaking to H-Metro, Merciless said:
“I feel blessed to be turning a year older and becoming wiser.
” This time around I decide to release mixtapes to honour my late mother, Soul Jah Love and the genre of Zim dancehall.
“My mother was and is still very special to me, because I am still guided by the life principles she taught me.
“She also believed in me and supported me very much.
” The mixtape carries Jamaican dancehall whilst the other two will have various Zim dancehall songs and the other only has strictly Jah Love songs.
” I want to give special mention and thanks to Tinashe Mutarisi, Jefferson and Boss Taka for the support to do these mixtapes.”
“The mixtapes come at a time of yet another lockdown and I hope dancehall fans have something to be entertained with.
” I urge people to stick to the Covid-19 regulations, mask up, social distance and stay alive because there is a life after Covid-19.”
