Miss Tourism regional auditions fever has hit Harare with the second audition scheduled for June 2 at ZTA offices.
The first audition which took place at Casa Studios saw at least 20 girls coming out for the opportunity to be considered for the crown.
One of the organisers, Rose Moyo, said they were expecting less girls since it was their first audition but were pleased with the outcome.
“Today (yesterday) was like a preview of next week.
“Most of the girls that came through and especially the ones that had the most talent are quite short, so we are encouraging taller girls to come forward.
“We are looking for 1.68M and above, they have to be residing in Harare and beautiful enough to represent Harare.
“Whoever wins on June 23 has to be good enough to represent Zimbabwe as well,” Rose told H-Metro.
The team set aside a few girls who they said had potential but had rough ages.
Zim Gossip Modelling Agency will be taking time to groom the girls for a week ahead of their second audition so as to give them a chance.
“We want 20 girls from Harare and at least 15 from the four provinces we have under our wing.
“Two provinces have already been covered, we had gone to universities were most girls will be but we had to postpone because of exams.
“We will be announcing the new dates on Tuesday.
“Sponsors have been coming on board and designers are interested in dressing the contestants at the final event,” she said.
Rose told H-Metro that they will be going back to Bindura to conduct the second audition for the Mashonaland Central selection.
