AWARD-winning gospel musician, Everton Mlalazi, will tomorrow invade Bulawayo for a free concert dubbed “The Homecoming Birthday Celebration”.
The event, which will be held at the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair Hall 4, will see different Zimbabwean and South African gospel artists sharing the stage.
Mlalazi will be joined by top local, and South African gospel singers, to celebrate his birthday.
Among the musicians expected to grace the concert are Benjamin Dube, Takesure Zamar, Mkhululi Bhebhe, Mai Mwamuka, Vusa Mangena, Pastor Barak and Lorraine Maplanka-Stot.
This will be his debut performance in the City of Kings after performing away from “home” for years.
Organisers said the concert was a special opportunity for him to mix and mingle with his home fans.
“This Saturday is very special for him because it’s his birthday and it’s important to come and celebrate his birthday with people at home.
“He wants to celebrate the life that God gave us for free together.
“If anyone has dreamt of watching singers like Mkhululi Bhebhe or Takesure Zama live, let them come, since the concert is free.
“A total of 5 000 people are expected at the concert and the venue is almost fully booked,” said one of the organisers.
Besides celebrating his birthday, the show is meant to praise God ‘for all He has done for us.
“People should come and celebrate the birthday and also praise the Lord for life.”
