HARARE-BASED model Gerald Jiyane is ready for the 2023 edition of Mr Zimbabwe International where he is one of the contestants.
The pageant will be held in Bulawayo on September 30.
Speaking to H-Metro, the 21- year-old, who hails from Beitbridge, said hhe has been grooming himself for this moment.
“As a fresh new ‘African ICON’ in the modelling profession, God, family, and friends have been extremely supportive ever since I took the big step into the Mr Zimbabwe International Competitions.
“My journey as a model so far has been incredible, I am still developing and I am excited to see what the future holds for me.
“I am working hard so I can improve my accuracy and reliability in the modeling industry and my expectations for this year’s edition of Mr Zimbabwe International are to try to do my best and represent my country well.
“This will be my first modeling pageant and I am excited to compete with the other contestants and learn a lot from them.
“I plan to utilise this platform to inspire those who have low self-esteem so that they can escape from their cages and follow their dreams,” he said.
Gerald is also a student at the University of Zimbabwe where he is studying history and international affairs.
He is an advocate for human rights, peace and security, social justice, environmental protection, democracy, and good governance.
He is passionate about helping others and making a difference in the world.
