A BEVY of 12 models has been shortlisted for the finals of Zimbabwe Queen pageant slated for April 23.
The second edition is running under the theme “Choose to Shine” at the Venue in Avondale in Harare.
Farai Zembeni, president of the pageant, said this is a chance for the models to become leaders.
He said the pageant’s main objective is to identify females, who portray the city’s values, morals and aspirations.
“The 12 are phenomenal young ladies and not only are they beautiful, they are equally smart embodying modern young women.
“Each of them has a social advocacy they are pushing, making the pageant not just a beauty pageant but a platform to raise awareness and give them a chance to become leaders.
“We will select two winners that will go and represent Zimbabwe at the Miss Global and Miss Supranational in Vietnam and Poland.
“King Tatenda Njanike is also in Poland for Mr Supranational 2023.
“I am hoping they all raise the country’s flag high and raise awareness on the beauty of our country and boost our tourism,” he said.
Contestants battling for the crown are Zanele Moyo (Bulawayo), Roseline Musekiwa (Bulawayo), Precious Sibanda (Harare), Kudzai Matizha (Harare), Courtney Tinotenda Gondo (Harare), Yeukai Consollor Vurayayi (Harare), Mitchel Chakauya (Harare), Charmaine Makondo (Harare), Progress Madhiba (Harare), Rukudzo Kambamura (Harare), Deone Magondo (Harare) and Adlaid Matutu (Chegutu).
