FORMER champion boxer Arifonso ‘Mosquito’ Zvenyika and his wife Jesman have dumped their old wedding rings and exchanged new silver rings as a powerful sign of dumping their past and embracing the future.
Jesman was in the headlines recently when she confirmed she cheated on the former champion boxer.
Mosquito has forgiven his wife and the couple has now turned to God.
They have since renewed their wedding vows by exchanging new silver wedding rings.
The two have attended two Sunday church services following their reunion.
Mosquito told H-Metro that they have found comfort in fellowshipping.
“The spirit of God convicted me and I shared this with my wife,” said Mosquito.
“We have decided to return to the house of the Lord as a family.
“Only God is faithful and has agape love.
“We have changed our wedding rings, we decided to turn our backs on some of our friends and join worshippers.
“I want to believe that God has visited me in an unusual way and feel like proclaiming good news to my fellow Zimbabweans.”
He added:
“I am a sinner, I need more grace and I am prepared to share the power and mystery of the Cross.
“Let Him (God) forgive my sins as I have forgiven those who sinned against me.
“I cannot be the first to pick a stone against my wife.”
He said he was madly in love with his wife.
“I love my wife, she is the mother of my children and we have been together for the past 16 years.
“I value my children, they need my love and that of their mother.
“We are now returning to the house of God for comfort and strength.
“My children are the witnesses of what God has put on my heart, to forgive my wife.
“We are to celebrate our reunion this holiday and share my feelings with friends and relatives,” said Mosquito.
