Chirumanzu-Zibagwe Member of Parliament, Prosper Machando commemorated the national day of praying while celebrating his birthday with church leaders.
The event was attended by leaders from various churches which included Methodist, Roman Catholic, ZCC, Anglican and FOG among others.
Speaking at the event, which was held over the weekend, Machando said after President Mnangagwa declared a national day of prayer few weeks ago, he saw it fit to celebrate his birthday with church leaders as they prayed for prosperity in the country.
“We are just emulating what the President on the National Day of prayer and descending did as we are all going through a tough phase as a nation during this COVID 19 pandemic.
“I pledge to work for my people in the Constituency ensuring vision 2030 is attained through hard work and perseverance.
“Last year we celebrated my birthday with the patients at a local hospital donating baby hampers to several babies who where disadvantaged and this year we have seen it imminent to commemorate a national day of prayer with church elders,” he said.
Machando donated branded facemasks to the church leaders and party officials who attended the event.
The function was attended by local leadership and authorities including the District Administrator among other dignitaries.
